Mixed Media Accordion Book - Holder of Treasures with Jean Stambaugh Peter

This little book was inspired by a similar book I had seen on the internet, but I did not save it, and for the life of me I have no idea when or where I seen it!! So I made what I thought I had seen. That is really a bit normal for me anyway . I am always seeing something different that what it really is!!

My Funny Valentine: I Heart Zendoodle! with Mandy Russell

This Valentine-themed Zendoodle is sure to make you ask questions. It's got that bizarre, Alice-In-Wonderland or Tim-Burton-feel to it. Is the heart plant a good presence? Or not so good? With the crazy look on her face as well as her curly-Q tentacles, she seems to lean towards the creepy side. And that little bump of a bee? Just what are his plans???

Whatever your take on this garden scene is, it's sure to wow viewers. Plus the act of just doodling is itself such a joyful meditative process. So grab a pencil, a black Micron pen, a piece of drawing weight paper, a blending stump, and a cup of tea. Create your own little weird and whimsical Valentine-inspired landscape.

Mixed Media Mini Folder and Collaged Zine with Jean Stambaugh Peter

It was a true struggle to come up with just the right thing to share! But after a little digging in the stash I came up with something kind of fun and bright!! I know we all buy supplies, they were on sale , they were clearance, or maybe the were just for sale!! We have the best intentions but sometimes we put it away really well!! I ran across this package of 2 mini folders, and being in a zine state of mind, I felt this was perfect!! Besides I have not shared much of my collage work!!

Salvaged Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Leah Tees

Hello all, it's getting pretty chilly up here in the great white north, and I can't help but sit and create when it's this cold!  Who wants to be outside in this weather?  Not me!

Tackling Creative New Year's Resolutions: Just Do It! With Mandy Russell

I'm not usually into making major New Year's resolutions. I've never believed that all of a sudden I'll commit to some big life changes simply because I'm writing a new number in the date section on my checks. I find it imposes more stress on me than necessary and often leads to a feeling of failure down the road. If you can do this, the more power to you!

Mixed Media Refillable Journal with Jean Stambaugh Peter

What a project!! This was a breeze, the only idea I had when starting it was painting the fusible web!! Absolutely no idea from there, but it took my hand and showed me the way it wanted to go!!

Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Leah Tees

I am using a Cloth, Paper, Scissors magazine edition for my inspiration today for OOAK Artisan Showcase. In every edition they post a reader's challenge, and in May of 2017, the challenge was flowers!

Birch Bark Buck Mixed Media with Roberta Laliberte

Hello everyone and happy holidays! I don't know if you got your holiday artsy fix yet but I sure got mine with this project! I had originally pictured some beautiful birch bark Christmas trees but then I saw a beautiful painting of a stag and I could just picture a birch bark stag.

Mixed Media Junque Journals By Mandy Russell

I've been practicing watercolor now for 6 or 7 years. I just love the medium and have amassed quite a pile of past watercolor artworks. I usually sketch and paint something, take a picture of it, post it to Instagram, then toss it in a pile.

Mixed Media Art Journal with Mandy Russell

I love using little bits and baubles in my art and I truly feel quite fortunate for how abundant they are in this world.

Mandy Russell, Stitched Abundance Art Journal, OOAK Artisans

Tiny buttons, gems, and plastic animals are a few of my faves which I've incorporated here in this sweet little stitched collage. There is no glue used here to hold things in place, just a needle and thread. Hmmmm, is it still a collage if there is no glue? Whatever it is, it's easy! And adorable!

Mixed Media Shine Art Journal Page with Leah Tees

I have an art journal page to share with you today for OOAK Artisan Showcase in one of my newly made art journals. I created the art journal with bristol paper cut to 4 x 6 and bound it with my Bind-It-All and some heavy weight board for the covers.

I started by putting down these star die cuts that I had. There were many different sizes and colors. I knew I was going to cover them over, so my main focus was placement. I glued them with Uhu glue stick.

Wicked Witch Mixed Media Project with Roberta Laliberte

Hello everyone, Roberta here and with Halloween just around the corner I just had to create a wonderfully witchy creation. You could easily make this to hang on a wall or a door but I made my witch to perch on the edge of a table. This wonderfully wicked witch is made out of scrap cardboard. Here’s how:

Sticks and Stones...a Wall Hanging with Jean Stambaugh Peter

Sticks and Stones ...I did not know for sure what this was going to be when I started it, but I knew the title would be Sticks and Stones! When starting this I noticed there were a lot of lines and circles; I think that is where the name came from. I am not good at naming my pieces so its a big thing coming up with a name so early!!

Jean Peter Sticks and Stones Wall Hanging OOAK Artisans

I took a lightweight canvas napkin (on clearance for $1.50 for a set of 4!!!) and painted it!! Using metallic paints and the 5x5 Gelli Plate I did a series of prints lined up to fill the square. Then I over-stamped with the circle plate. Grabbed me some acrylic paint, stencil, markers and brushes, and doodled and stenciled accents!! Then I thought of what it could be .. book cover? Journal? Wall hanging? Bag? Pillow? The Pillow was eliminated after sewing paper to it.
