Wicked Witch Mixed Media Project with Roberta Laliberte

Hello everyone, Roberta here and with Halloween just around the corner I just had to create a wonderfully witchy creation. You could easily make this to hang on a wall or a door but I made my witch to perch on the edge of a table. This wonderfully wicked witch is made out of scrap cardboard. Here’s how:

1.Use cardboard to create a body with a head shape and two legs. Draw on her face and shoes.

2. I used a flesh, light brown, pink and white paint to paint in the facial features, painting all the way to the neck. Paint her a dress on the body in black.

3. Paint a piece of cardstock or bristol paper with black paint. I spread it so it was streaky.

4. Create a hat brim with the painted paper. Cut a slit in the middle to slide the head into. Cut a triangular shaped peak for her hat as well.

5. Crumple brown paper to create hair from.

6. Take a section of the paper, make sure it is 2.5x the width of her head and cut strips.

7. Glue the hair on, folding like the diagram leaving a small flap to fold over her face a bit.

10. Use a piece of foam or cardboard to add a stand at the back. Paint her legs with black and white stripes and add her shoes. Pop holes in the bottom of the body and top of the legs. Attache the legs with string, leave a bit of space for dangling.
