Hand spun yarn . . .woven into a scarf!

Wow Christmas is just around the corner. I need to aim my art towards Presents!! I tend to have a lot of ideas, start too late and seldom finish. I have recently learned to make my own yarn using a drop spindle. It is a really addictive, creative outlet for me.

But what do I make with all this yarn?? My looms were all warped up, so I finished up what was on them, changed to the 5 dent heddle, and started a new weaving using a 5 dent heddle. For those not sure what that is , it has bigger holes for thicker yarn!

Much of the yarn I have made is quite lumpy and bumpy, this yarn much easier and faster to use. I think it took longer to warp the loom than it did to weave it because of course I had to do each warp a different strand of yarn!!

I love the way it warped and even more the way it wove up! So this year I actually got a start on christmas!

Knowing this is not my normal mixed media style, this has so much rich color I am hoping I can inspire with the textures and colors!! ~ Jean
